What defines us is what we value: appreciation, serenity, tranquility, tradition, and our natural identity. The Streklhof is a time-honored, beautiful, and above all authentic place. Nothing here is artificial or contrived—we live our culture with all its unique characteristics. Because, let’s be honest: everything else is replaceable. But our own identity never is!

We love nature. Preserving and caring for it is our top priority.
The Streklhof is a gift from nature. And one that generations of our family have cherished. Building on what already exists while creating something new—always with great respect for nature and its laws—is very important to us. This applies on both a large and small scale. For example, we’ve switched from oil to an energy-efficient heating system that runs on wood chips. Wood chips that come from our own forest! Regional products in the kitchen, eco-friendly cleaning, natural furnishings in the rooms, etc. Our commitment extends to every aspect of the hotel. With the award of the Austrian Ecolabel in 2010, we received the highest government distinction for environmentally conscious tourism businesses. And we’re proud of that!
Give things time.
The Streklhof is a place that has grown over decades. And that is exactly what we want it to remain. Every year we invest in it, because we want it to continue to grow. But never with the mindset of “better, further, faster.” We want it to grow steadily. Not to overreach or lose sight of its roots. This is about respect and consistency. And also about authenticity. Everything has its time and needs its time.

We work with regional products from local partners and farmers. For environmental reasons, but also to remain authentic. And for us, this is truly a matter of principle. If there are no local tomatoes, the kitchen won’t serve tomato salad. Instead, we’ll offer a particularly delicious pumpkin dish. We, our staff, and our partners all share this philosophy. And when you are our guest, you, too, share this vision. And for that, we are grateful. Because we can only live by this philosophy together with you.
