For three generations now, we have been running the Streklhof with enthusiasm, passion, love, and a deep sense of tradition. For us, tradition means preserving what we have with care and complementing it with modern elements. This has created a place where tradition and contemporary design blend harmoniously, giving the Streklhof its very own distinctive character—unparalleled and unique.

How a farm became a hotel.
“Summer retreat on Lake Wörthersee.” Starting in 1955, the Streklhof began renting rooms to so-called “summer vacationers.” To do this, the family cleared out their private rooms and slept on straw to provide their guests with modest comfort. Grandma Ursula took care of the guests’ well-being. In 1959, son Hans married his Gerti. She took over the entire management of the hotel and set new standards. To this day, Grandma Gerti remains the heart and soul of the house. Hans, on the other hand, focused primarily on farming and his hobby of building.
By 1980, the farm had already reached its current size. Investments in the quality of the property were made consistently. Thus, a farm that has grown over decades. And that is exactly what it should remain. Every year we invest, because we want it to continue growing. But never with the mindset of “better, further, faster.” We don’t want to overreach or lose our roots. This has to do with respect and consistency. And also with authenticity. Everything has its time and needs its time.
