Whether you’re looking for challenging bike tours or a leisurely ride with panoramic views, our region offers a wide variety of cycling experiences. A particularly convenient feature: a bike path runs right past our property and leads you to numerous beautiful routes in the area. We’re happy to provide tips, maps, and e-bikes right here on site.

Thanks to our location right on the R4 bike path (Wörthersee & Keutschacher Seental), you can set off right from our doorstep. A bike storage room with charging stations for e-bikes is also available for your use.
The most beautiful routes and best tips
Lake Tour (signposted)
From Aich, cycle along Lake Wörthersee toward Velden to Pörtschach (Flower Promenade). From the peninsula, you’ll enjoy a magnificent view of Maria Wörth. The route continues via Krumpendorf to Klagenfurt. Here, it’s worth stopping at Minimundus, the miniature world on Lake Wörthersee, the Happ Reptile Zoo, or the Planetarium. At the Lend Canal, you can grab a bite to eat at the old tramway. The bike path continues along the Glan River to Viktring (R4A). After a gentle climb, you’ll soon reach Lake Rauschel, where you can stop at the Enchanted Forest. Passing Lake Keutschach, the route goes through Schiefling to Aich.

Drauradschleife–Rosental (not signposted)
This tour takes you past the idyllically situated Bäckerteich pond, first to Rosegg and then into the Rosental valley. From the Drau Cycle Path to Mühlbach, you’ll ride along a gravel path through a floodplain, passing through Dreilach on your way to Längdorf. Here, you have the option of taking a short detour to St. Jakob. The route continues along dirt roads to the point where the Rosenbach stream flows into the Drau. If you’d like to cool off, you can enjoy ice-cold mountain water here. At the Drau Bridge in Selkach, you’ll cross to the opposite side of the Drau and ride through Treffen and below St. Egyden, continuing via Latschach to Selpritsch.

Lake Faaker See Loop (not signposted)
From the Streklhof, head toward Lind ob Velden and on to Föderlach. After crossing the Drau River, a challenging climb awaits you near St. Niklas. But don’t worry: pushing your bike is allowed! At the wayside shrine, you can recover from the exertions and enjoy the wonderful view of Lake Faaker See and the Mittagskogel. From Drobollach, the route follows the nature reserve to Faak and continues to the eastern shore. Via Ledenitzen and Mühlbach, you ride to Rosegg. One more short climb and you’re back in Velden. From there, it’s back to the Streklhof.

Karolinger Bike Trail
A cycling tour that offers special appeal both in terms of scenery and history. This route takes you from Aich to Velden via Pörtschach and on toward Moosburg, where you leave the main road at the golf course and cycle along traffic-free paths at the edge of the forest to Naßweg. On the way to Kl. St. Veit, the view of the magnificent landscape with Lake Tigring and the Karawanken Mountains opens up time and again. After Tigring Castle, you’ll encounter the first traces of the Carolingians, which invite you to stop and explore along the road. In Moosburg, be sure to visit the museum and the castle. Passing the golf course, the route heads back to Pörtschach and Velden. From there, you’ll return to the Streklhof.

A route that has it all—from relaxing rides on beautiful forest and meadow trails to challenging runs on tricky slopes and fast-paced downhills.

Castle Cycle Route (signposted)
The digitally connected bike path between the castles of Damtschach, Wernberg, Rosegg, and Velden passes through three municipalities and 22 small monuments.
From Streklhof, the route heads toward Velden. The nearly 30-kilometer journey takes you up and down hills from the tourist information office in Velden through Wernberg to Rosegg and back to Aich via Selpritsch. After about seven kilometers, you’ll reach Damtschach Castle, which was built at the beginning of the 16th century. Just a stone’s throw away lies the next castle on the tour, Wernberg Castle. First mentioned in records in 1227, Wernberg Castle is operated as a monastery. Rosegg Castle is located about 14 kilometers from the last stop. After a leisurely visit to Rosegg, the Castles Cycle Route leads back to the starting point of the route with a final stop at the Hotel Schloss Velden. Built in the 16th century, the castle lies directly on the shore of Lake Wörthersee and has been operated as a hotel, with some interruptions, since the late 19th century. In the early 1990s, the TV series “Ein Schloss am Wörthersee” was filmed here, among other locations, at the last castle on the Castles Cycle Route.

Velden-Ossiacher See (signposted)
A tour offering particularly scenic charm. From Aich to Selpritsch toward Lind ob Velden, the route follows the Drau Cycle Path toward Villach. At the new Villach Drau Bridge, which stands out for its red color, the cycle path continues toward Lake Ossiach. In Ossiach, it’s worth taking a detour to Ossiach Abbey. The route continues eastward to Steindorf and then via Bodensdorf, Sattendorf, and Annenheim to St. Andrä and Landskron. The route back to Aich follows the Drau River again.

Around the Kathreinkogel (not signposted)
On this tour, you can follow in the footsteps of the Romans—an adventure for the whole family. Once you reach the Latschach plain and cycle along the Drau River, you’ll enjoy a stunning view of the Karawanken Mountains, St. Jakob, and St. Egyden. In St. Egyden, you can leave your bikes at the Kreuzwirt and hike up the Kathreinkogel. The route then leads back to Velden via Schieflingen and on toward Aich.
